At Fun with Miss Syd, we value explicit learning through joyful contexts. Join us for 1:1 reading, writing, or math tutoring for grades PK-8! We’re all about meeting your student where they are (wherever that may be!) and helping them grow intoconfident learners. We’ll blend learning with play, dive into exciting games, get creative with art projects, and share lots of giggles all while staying grounded in explicit content area instruction. Whether you’re looking for an extra help or an extension of current learning, we’re here to support your learner’s journey and cheer on their progress!

Tutoring can be an incredible supplement for your homeschooled learner!

Homeschool tutoring at Fun with Miss Syd is designed to support families who want consistent, joyful, and

intentional academic growth as part of their homeschool rhythm. Sessions can function as a core instructional

block, targeted skill-building, or an enrichment extension depending on your goals.

We often work with homeschoolers during the daytime and can focus on:

• Building strong foundations in reading, writing, and math

• Following or supplementing a chosen curriculum (including Dimensions Math and other structured programs)

• Filling gaps or accelerating learning in specific areas

• Project-based learning and interdisciplinary connections

Homeschool tutoring is collaborative and flexible while still grounded in explicit instruction and measurable growth. Families receive regular communication around progress, next steps, and skill development so tutoring feels like a true partnership.

Traditional Schoolers:

Tutoring for traditional schoolers is ideal for students who attend school during the day and want extra support, confidence-building, or enrichment outside the classroom. Sessions are typically held after school and are tailored to align with what students are learning in their classrooms.

We may focus on:

• Reinforcing classroom instruction in reading, writing, or math

• Strengthening foundational skills that impact overall confidence

• Providing enrichment and challenge beyond grade-level expectations

• Homework support when appropriate, with an emphasis on understanding not just completion

Our goal is to help students feel capable, confident, and prepared as learners. Sessions are responsive to individual needs and may include explicit instruction, targeted practice, repetition, or enrichment with the aim of building clarity, skill mastery, and independence.
